The music of the Americas is very rich in both written and oral traditions. Part of our mission is to unearth the many musical gems that our rich heritage has to offer.

Our researchers are in a constant quest to unearth manuscripts of pieces by key composers and discover composers unknown to the general audience. We also look to preserve the music of the indigenous people of the Americas, which is in many cases in danger of disappearing.

Our videographers have traveled to remote regions of South America to shoot footage of the people who keep alive the oral tradition of their cultures.

The findings of our research activities are shared with the public at large and other researchers via our video collection as well as through our partnership with Latin Orchestral Music, an online catalog where you can browse hundreds of manuscripts and scores and peruse samples for research purposes.

Many of these pieces are made available to performers worldwide through our publication partnership with different music publishing companies.
